Canvas is not the appropriate platform for archiving video’s. Please, do not upload your recorded Zoom meetings directly to Canvas, upload to Kaltura instead. For an instruction on how to upload your recorded zoom meeting to Kaltura, check the Zoom page under the how to tab.

- In principle, the advice is data minimization. Teachers are advised not to record or store data if it is not strictly necessary and to only share data which is essential for lessons.
- Teachers must therefore carefully consider in advance whether they only stream a lecture 'live' or whether teachers can make it plausible that the lessons/lectures/meetings must be made available for later use. Teachers must inform students upfront if they want to record a session. Teachers further have to obide the following rules:

- make clear how long the recordings will be retained;
- make clear how the recordings are protected and who gets access to it;

- The fact that the official 'recording function' is turned off in some systems for users does not mean that it cannot be recorded in any other way (e.g. via a mobile phone). Then make sure as a teacher to inform all participants that making recording in all forms is prohibited.
- As a final advice, as a teacher you could settle in your course to promote a Neutral Point Of View like Wikipedia and only present the different viewpoints accurately without endorsing one viewpoint over the other.
