Classroom studios

Studio Classroom.png
VU Amsterdam has a number of so-called Classroom studios. These are small classrooms that contain a good microphone, a webcam and two big computer screens. These rooms can be used for 2 types of education:
  • Recording a knowledge clip or pre-recorded lecture. You can upload this video to Canvas so students can watch it asynchronous.
  • Streaming your lecture live via Zoom and record it at the same time.
The way to do this #1:
Get used to the technology before you start, especially when giving a live lecture. Practice beforehand.
The way to do this #2:
Set your video settings in Zoom on HD for a high quality image.
The way to do this #3:
Make sure to make readable powerpoints (we recommend a minimum font size of 28, a blue background and white letters for best readability).
The way to do this #4:
Want to record your lecture? The Zoom cloud recordings are automatically uploaded to your My Media in Canvas.
Only the small studios for recording a lecture or knowledge clip can be booked. No students are allowed in these rooms. The bigger rooms, suitable for hybrid education, can't be booked, but are scheduled to you via the faculty led scheduling process.
  • While booking, please leave the order number blank.
  • The studios are free.
  • The studios are available daily but not meant for regular scheduling.
  • No students are allowed in these studios.
