Composing your educational resources with different elements
Wikiwijs Maken can be used to create educational resources. These resources can vary from open textbooks to information pages. Teachers can compose their resources with various elements, such as text, illustrations, videos, and quizzes. This building block structure provides the teacher with great autonomy on how to design the resource. Wikiwijs contains many interactive options, such as tests and separate assignments. Sharing openly and collaborating with colleagues
Within Wikiwijs Maken, teachers have the options to work in teams. In this way, you can collaborate on your open educational resource with other colleagues, both within and outside of your institution.

Students don’t have to buy (expensive) study books, which contributes to the accessibility of education. Toxicology, an open textbook
This open online textbook on Environmental Toxicology aims at covering the field in its full width, including aspects of environmental chemistry, ecotoxicology, toxicology and risk assessment. With that, it will contribute to improving the quality, continuity and transparency of the education in environmental toxicology. We also want to make sure that fundamental insights on fate and effects of chemicals gained in the past are combined with recent approaches of effect assessment and molecular analysis of mechanisms causing toxicity.
In this module from the University Library, you will learn how to search for scientific literature in a smart, systematic way. You will learn how to prepare a search and how to use appropriate search techniques to find relevant studies in PubMed and other databases. You will also learn the importance of keeping a logbook.
This Wikiwijsmodule gives you information on the didactical method Object Based Teaching and Learning. This is a method where objects take center stage in education. Through the materiality of the objects, you can provide your students with a rich learning experience. This guide gives you some handles to start with the method.

If you use resources from others, such as photos, illustrations, or text, you need to ensure that you have the right to do so. Preferably, go for elements for which you have the copyright or use elements that are shared with an open license. If you want to use resources that are copyrighted, linking (embedding is also linking) is always correct. Other people can use your resourcefollowing the terms of itslicense. Most importantly, they can access it freely at all times.On top, if the license allows this, they can use it for and alter it to their own context. Wikiwijs makes it easy to copy resourcesfrom others and reuse them in your own educational resource.
+ Where can others find the educational resource once it is published?
As an author, you can decide where to publish the open resource. Once you publish your resource in Wikiwijs, it will be available on both Wikiwijs and edusources. Metadata is added to the resource. There are several other (international) databases that you can share the resource in. You can easily link to the resource in Canvas or add it to yourVU Reading List.
