In order for VU teachers to keep their libraries in control and find relevant libraries, it is important to adhere to the VU naming conventions for libraries. The VU Amsterdam admins can contact you and might ask you to apply the convention. Each library must start with the short-code for your faculty as follows: [Faculty code]_[meaningful name of the library]_[etc]. Examples:- RCH_Europees Recht_Ba1_
- FGB_Introduction Psychotherapy_Ma_
- BETA_Global Health_ResearchProject1

+ I am working at ACTA, how to register for Annotate PRO?
Staff from ACTA can use Annotate PRO like other staff from VU (sign in using VU Google), just read the getting started guide Links to an external site., where detailed instructions are provided.
+ I am requested by the admin to evaluate my use of Annotate PRO, why?
VU Amsterdam has a limited license for Annotate PRO (200 staff members). So when the number of users increases, we will regularly ask all users with low usage if they still need an active account for Annotate PRO.
+ I am requested by the admin to rename my libraries, why?
To keep the libraries at VU Amsterdam manageable, we want users to always include the three letters of the faculty they work in, on the first positions of the name of the library. Our admin regularly checks and can request staff members to comply with the naming convention.
The VU has a contract and a data processing agreement with the supplier. These contain all kinds of provisions that prohibit the supplier from using personal data of VU employees and VU students for their own purposes (such as reselling). There are also a variety of security agreements in the agreement about when employees of the supplier may view data (almost never) that enters the application and what the supplier must do to minimize the chance that third parties can view or change data.
Annotate PRO is configured at VU Amsterdam in such a way that no information of students is processed via Annotate PRO itself. The comments made to students are not linked through the system.
To guarantee the privacy and security, of teachers and students, it is important that you use this tool with a VU account instead of a private account.
