Your mentor will give you advice on and approval of your Personal Education Plan (PEP), give advice on suitable research projects and act as examiner for these. Once you are enrolled and active in the master, you will be assigned to one of the mentors.

More information can be found in the teaching and examination regulations (TER) Links to an external site., and the study guide of the Bioinformatics and Systems Biology programme. In the first year you should aim to finish all courses, including the conversion classes, after this you can start your research projects.
You can look in the study guides of the UvA and the VU for additional optional courses. If these are not stated in the TER you will need to ask permission from the Examination Board in advance).

Examination Board
If you want to follow a course that is not listed in the Teaching and Exam Regulations (TER) or you have other requests contact the Examination Board, you can use the online form on VU.nl for this, search for Examination Board or try directly the following link.
Education Office
If you cannot sign up for a course or exam at the VU because you have registered too late (or for other reasons) contact the education office. Please first read the rules for (de-)registering for courses and exams carefully. (De-)registration takes place via the Registration Module.
